If you are looking for beautiful country house bed & breakfast accommodation in peaceful rural surroundings near Berwick Upon Tweed, then The Old Parsonage may just fit the bill. We have 3 rooms to offer: 2 doubles and 1 twin.

A perfect place to wind down and relax.

Close to the Northumberland coast, Holy Island, Bamburgh, The Farne Islands, Alnwick, Seahouses or venture inland to the Cheviot Hills and the grand houses of the Scottish Borders.

All rooms have cotton bed linen, fluffy towels, cosy dressing gowns, hairdryers and luxury toiletries, along with complimentary teas, coffee and bottled water. Each room has a flat-screen TV with DVD player and free WiFi internet.

The Drawing Room on the ground floor has comfy sofas, large-screen TV, board games and books to enjoy and a cosy fire burning in the cooler months.

The extensive gardens are a great place to explore; wander in the wildflower meadow; relax and read a book in The Hut; play croquet on the lawns or play tennis on the hard surface tennis court.

We have plenty of free parking space and lock up storage for bikes and sports equipment .

We are a non-smoking house but outside is fine.

We love dogs but unfortunately are unable to accommodate guests' dogs.

A choice of three rooms for our guests to enjoy.

Dovecote

An elegant, light-filled, south-facing room with Superking-size four-poster bed and en-suite walk-in shower room. It overlooks the dovecote and gardens with views out across woodlands and fields.

Orchard

Has a Kingsize Sleigh bed and adjacent private bathroom with roll top bathtub with shower fitment. A large, south facing bay window overlooking the orchard gives views across to the coast.

Treetops

A spacious twin room at the top of the house. Up two flights of stairs, it has two comfortable single beds and a walk-in shower room. Dorma windows face south with views over the treetops to the countryside and coast.

Breakfast at The Old Parsonage

Breakfast is served in the spacious dining room which opens onto the gardens.

Getting Here - Directions

Travelling South down the A1
After passing Berwick-Upon-Tweed take the B6252 signed Wooler. Stay on this road for appx 2 miles through Ancroft and The Old parsonage is the last house on the left before you leave the village. Enter through the stone gateposts on corner.

Travelling North up the A1
After passing Haggerston castle on right travel appx 1 mile and turn left signed Ancroft Mill. (Please take care and give plenty of notice as this is a busy road ) Take next turn right. Appx 1mile turn right at T junction. Go down the hill and The Old Parsonage is the first house as you enter the village on the right hand side The entrance is through the stone gate posts on bend of road.

Please drive in and park in front of house .
